Gilah McCarroll
Gilah McCarroll creates bold and energetic abstract pieces using acrylic and mixed media
Gilah has lived and worked in Belfast since attending Queen’s University. Gilah’s work often incorporates a grounding element through referencing iconic landmarks like the Harland and Wolff cranes. These cranes, symbolic of Belfast's industrial heritage, are integrated into her artwork, sometimes taking centre stage, while at other times, serving as abstract elements to anchor the composition
Reflecting her love of bold colour, Gilah’s large-scale abstract paintings capture the life, energy, spirit and resilience of Belfast. In all her work, her dynamic use of colour and texture are infused with the sensory and evoke place, mood and memory for the viewer
