Paddy McConnell
Paddy McConnell, born in Belfast in 1994, is an Irish Artist that specialising in portrait and figurative art using a range of mediums including pencil, acrylic and pen.
Paddy studied Film and Television Production at Edge Hill University. His love of classic film is evident as many movie icons have been the subject of his work. These subjects are typically in black and white where his use of pencil drawing preserves the graininess and aged look. However, the background of these pieces is often painted with vibrant, primary colours and/or gold. This use of gold is inspired by religious paintings which use gold to symbolise 'divine light' and used somewhat playfully by Paddy
