Gary Cairns
Gary Cairns was born in Enniskillen in 1962 before moving to Portadown where he currently lives and works. Gary was always fascinated by art but it remained a hobby for years as he pursued a career in engineering.
Having spent years rebuilding and modifying motorcycles, he met Dave Bristow, an award winning automotive airbrush artist who has since become his mentor and friend. Choosing to paint with an airbrush, there is no physical contact with the canvas, distance from the surface, air pressure, amount of paint to air ,type of paint , trigger control are all variables in the process to achieve hard and soft lines, soft textures, smooth colour blends and fine detail.
