Brenda Flannery

Brenda Flannery is an Irish artist based in County Mayo. She graduated from the Centre for Creative Arts and Media in Galway with a BA Hons Fine Art and specialises in seascapes, primarily in oils, inspired by the landscape and constantly changing weather on the coast.

Much of her work is inspired by the surrounding rural landscape and the miles of sandy beaches along the west coast of Erris. Brenda’s ability to capture light and atmosphere is at the core of her work as its ability to transform any setting as it bounces and reflects of the surrounding surfaces.

Brenda has participated in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally including the RUA Annual Exhibition in Belfast.

Her paintings range from still, serene and simplified views which offer a break from the overstimulation of the outside world to others portraying movement and energy. The magical, fleeting essence of light is captured in her work so that we can contemplate the beauty and intensity of these transient moments a little longer before the temporality of the setting subsides and disappears to time. Her work captures the essence of these points in time so that you can transport that beauty and stillness into your home where they can be a source of daily meditation and contemplation in your own private space.
