Emanuela Mae Agrini
Emanuela Mae Agrini was born in Genoa, Italy, in 1981. She attended the Nicolò Barabino art school and subsequently continued her studies in Literature, Archaeology and Ancient Art at the University of Genoa. She is now based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where she returned to drawing and painting after a long break from her practice.
The main focus of her work today is the portrait, intended as an opportunity to express both the personality of the subject and their vision through the artist’s eye. In her work, sinuous lines and dreamy, expressionist features combine with bright colours and a strong sense of presence. She works across different media, from life drawing in charcoal to gouache and oil painting, always aiming to create lively, bold works with strong colours.
