Brian Ballard
Brian Ballard was born in Belfast in 1943, he studied at the Belfast College of Art and then at the College of Art in Liverpool and is now a senior member of the Royal Ulster Academy. Ballard is known for his Still Life, Landscapes, Coastal Scenes and Nudes with bold colours and heavy brush strokes. His works are held in numerous public and private collections including those of the Ulster Museum, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Crawford Municipal Gallery Cork, The National Trust and Irish Rock legends U2
Ballard balances his time between Belfast and the island of Innisfree, Donegal. His contemporary approach to painting alternates between landscape, expressionist still life and figurative nudes in equal measure and intensity.
